History

Christian Life Academy (CLA) welcomed its first students in 1983. From its founding, through the 2014/15 school year, CLA was known as Christian Life School. Founded as a ministry of Christian Life Church, CLA is home to an interdenominational faculty and student body representing over 40 churches in the south metro area. Our alumni graduate prepared to excel at universities across the country.

Notable events in CLA’s history include:

  • 1984 – Completion of additional classrooms, library, locker rooms and gymnasium
  • 1989 – Accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
  • 1989 – First graduating class
  • 1996 – International missions trips began for juniors and seniors
  • 1998 – Separate high school classrooms added to the facility
  • 2001 – Kent Boyum became Lead Pastor of Christian Life Church (current)
  • 2002 – Darin Kindle became Administrator of Christian Life Academy (current)
  • 2006 –  Baseball team won the Christian Athletic League Championship
  • 2007 – Honors classes offered
  • 2007 – Soccer team won the Christian Athletic League Championship
  • 2009 – Varsity gymnasium remodeled with new floor
  • 2009 – Auditorium remodeled
  • 2010 – Boys basketball team won the Christian Athletic League Championship
  • 2010 – Secondary building completely remodeled
  • 2011 – Large-scale playground installed
  • 2011 – Varsity-level soccer, baseball and softball fields added to the campus
  • 2011 – Volleyball team won the Christian Athletic League Championship
  • 2011 – CLA recognized its first PSAT/National Merit Commended Student
  • 2013 – Athletic teams entered the MN State High School League
  • 2014 – Outdoor pavilion, new parking lot, lighting, and patio completed
